(ORAL) This petition has been filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. seeking quashing of the FIR No. 48 dated 16.04.2021 registered under Section 420 of Indian Penal Code, at Police Station Adampur, District Jalandhar (Annexure P-1) and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise dated 20.10.2022 (Annexure P-2). Mr. Amit Kumar Walia, Advocate has put in appearance on behalf of the petitioner and filed his fresh power of attorney with no objection from the previous counsel. The same is taken on record. Learned counsel submits that respondent No. 2 has effected compromise with the petitioner on 20.10.2022 and he has already acted upon the compromise and has received the agreed amount of Rs. 28,00,000/-. Now the complainant/respondent No.

2, due to mala-fide intention has taken a U-turn and is demanding Rs. 4,00,000/- more for getting his statement recorded in terms of the compromise for quashing of the FIR (supra).

2024:PHHC:009769 CRM-M-20977-2023 -2petition seeking quashing of the FIR(supra) on merits. In view of the submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the present petition is dismissed as withdrawn with liberty as aforesaid.
