Prayer in this writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari, for quashing the impugned regularization order dated 29.12.2006 (Annexure P-3) passed by respondent No.5 only to the extent of regularizing the services of the petitioners w.e.f. 01.10.2003 instead of 31.01.1996. Further a writ of mandamus has been sought, directing the respondents to regularize the services of the petitioners w.e.f. 31.01.1996 with all consequential benefits. 2.

The case has been called twice since morning and despite that there is no representation on behalf of the petitioners. The situation was not different even on the last date of hearing. It appears that neither the petitioners nor their counsel is interested in pursuing the present petition.
