SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) Petitioner no. 2-Rajanpreet Kaur is minor and petitioner no. 1Lakhwinder Singh is alleging his marriage with petitioner no. 2. Learned counsel for petitioners submits that petitioners have married against wishes of private respondents, who are maternal grand parents and aunt of petitioner no. 2. Apprehending danger to their life and liberty, they have filed this petition seeking protection of their life and liberty.
The marriage is against the provisions of The Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006. However, keeping in view the fact that learned counsel for petitioners has confines his submission only for protection to life and liberty of petitioners, instant petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Moga to look into representation dated 12.09.2018 (Annexure P-4) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of copy of this order along with representation in his office.
