The present petition has been filed under Section 482 BNSS, 2023, for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners in case DDR No.56, dated 17.02.2026 in FIR No.53 dated 16.02.2026, under Sections 332(C), 127(2), 115(2), 303(2), 324(4), 351(2), 190, 191(2) BNS (452, 340, 323, 379, 427, 506, 149, 146 IPC), registered at Police Station Machhiwara, District Ludhiana. 2.
On 09.04.2026, this Court had passed the following order:- "Learned counsel submits that it is a case of version and cross version. The complainant party is the aggressor having trespassed into house of the petitioners and gave beatings regarding which a video was made by themselves and circulated and a FIR in that regard has already been got registered against the complainant party herein a day prior to the present DDR. The FIR was registered for offence under Sections 452, 340, 323, 379, 427, 506, 149, 146 IPC, however, the relevant Section 354(b) was not added, regarding which the daughter of the petitioners has submitted a representation dated 16.02.2026, Annexure P4, as her clothes were also torn. Petitioner No.1 has not attributed any injury. They are ready and willing to join the investigation as and when required by the investigating agency and will cooperate.
Notice of motion.
At the asking of the Court, Mr. Manipal Singh Atwal, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State. Meanwhile, the petitioners are directed to join the investigation on or before 16.04.2026. In the event of their arrest, they shall be released on interim bail to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer, subject to compliance of conditions as enshrined under Section 482(2) BNSS.
However, it is clarified that if the petitioners do not join and cooperate with the Investigating Agency as required by the ASHOK KUMAR 2026.04.23 15:39 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Learned counsel submits that in pursuance of the afore-mentioned order, the petitioners have not only joined investigation but also fully cooperated with the investigating agency. He further submits that in case the investigating agency requires the petitioner to appear, they shall make themselves available without demur.

Learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Sohan Singh affirms the factum of joining the investigation by the petitioners and cooperating with the investigating agency. She also submits that at this stage, the petitioners are not required for further custodial interrogation. 5.
In view of the above and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, anticipatory bail petition filed by the petitioners is allowed and the order dated 09.04.2026 granting interim bail to them, is hereby made absolute, subject to compliance of conditions as specified under Section 482(2) of BNSS, 2023.

However, it is made clear that if the petitioners fail to join and cooperate with the investigating agency as and when required, the State would be at liberty to move an application for cancellation of the present anticipatory bail granted to them.
