(the aforesaid presence is being recorded through video conferencing since the proceedings are being conducted in Virtual Court) ***** GURVINDER SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) The petitioner Ram Manohar has approached this Court seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus directing respondents No.1 to 3 to get his daughter Roli Devi released from respondents No.4 and 5. At the time of issuance of notice of motion, respondent No.3Station House Officer, P.S. Sohana, District SAS Nagar, Mohali had been directed to visit the premises of respondents No.4 and 5 and to report as to whether petitioner's daughter namely Roli Devi has been illegally confined by respondents No.4 and 5.

The learned State counsel has today furnished copies of statements of Roli Devi and of her husband Suraj, who have both stated that PANKAJ KAKKAR 2020.08.04 17:29 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

( 2 ) CRWP-5090-2020 (O&M) they have solemnized marriage on 9.3.2020 and have since been residing happily. It has further been stated by them that infact they apprehended threat to their lives from the petitioner Ram Manohar and his wife Neetu and had approached this Court by way of filing CRWP-3897 of 2020 for protection. Statements of the petitioner Ram Manohar and of his wife Neetu have also been recorded, who have stated that their daughter had married a boy namely Suraj out of her own free will and that they do not have any objection and will not threaten them at all.

In view of the aforesaid statements it transpires that the petitioner's daughter Roli Devi has married Suraj out of her own free will and consent and it cannot be said that she is forcibly detained by respondents No.4 and 5.

In these circumstances, no further direction is required to be issued.

The petition, as such, is dismissed.
