The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a mandamus directing respondents No. 1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family members, as he apprehends threat at the hands of respondents No. 4 to 6.

Status report by way of affidavit of Gurpeet Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division Mansa, District Mansa has been filed in Court today, which is taken on record. The stand of the respondent-State reads as under :- "(ix) It would be relevant to mention here that till date there is no evidence for adding offence under section 326/307 IPC, however, if any evidence proving the commission 326/307 IPC SATYAWAN 2024.05.16 22:49

came into light, then of offence under section the relevant sections of IPW will be added in the present case/FIR. It is further submitted that Respondent No.4 and 5 were already arrested in the present case and as per the statement of the petitioner and as there is no iota of evidence of participation of respondent No.6 in the commission of offence, as such, There is no need to nominate respondent No.6 as accused in the present case. However, in case if any evidence came against N respondent No.6 or any other persons, then appropriate action will be taken against him against him"

In view of the stand of the State, this Court does not find that any further order is warranted.
