(Oral) The petitoners have approached this Court seeking issuance of direction to protect their life and liberty as the private respondents did not approve of their 'live-in' relationship.

Notice of motion.

At this stage, Mr. Viranjeet Singh Mehal, Addl. PP, U.T. Chandigarh has put in appearing on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3. Learned State counsel has submitted that pursuant to receipt of an advance copy of the petition, necessary inquiries were made and statements of both the petitioners have been recorded, who have categorically stated to the effect that as of now they do not apprehend any threat to their lives. He has furnished photocopies of the said statements and the same are taken on record.

CRWP-5024-2022 (O&M) - 2 - Faced with the aforestated position, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that he may be permitted to withdraw the instant petition. In view of the aforesaid request, the petition is dismissed as withdrawn.

However, in case at a subsequent stage the petitioners ever apprehend threat to their life and liberty, it shall be open to them to approach this Court again.
