Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of direction to respondent No.3 to decide the representation dated 14.03.2026 (Annexure P6) of the petitioner expeditiously for granting of parole to him.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the period of parole expired on 12.03.2026 and the petitioner surrendered to jail authorities on 12.03.2026. He further submitted that after expiring the parole period, the petitioner again submitted fresh representation to Superintendent Central Jail, Patiala-respondent No.2 on 14.03.2026 for granting of parole to him, which has not been decided as yet. Copy of the same has also been placed on record as Annexure P6. He submits that he would be satisfied if respondent No.2 is directed to look into and decide the said representation.

CRWP-3801-2026 (O&M) -2Short reply by way of an affidavit of Gurcharan Singh Dhaliwal, Superintendent Central Jail, Patiala has been filed on behalf of the respondent-State and the same is taken on record. As per the aforesaid reply, after completion of his parole, the petitioner has surrendered back timely on jail on 12.03.2026. It is also not denied by by learned State counsel that representation of the petitioner dated 14.03.2026 is yet pending.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2, to decide the aforesaid representation within a period of two weeks. It is clarified that such order must be a reasoned order, and the same be communicated to the representationist as well as his counsel without delay and through e-mail, which the petitioner's counsel would given to the State counsel today itself. Present petitioner is disposed of with the aforesaid observations. Liberty reserved to approach this Court, if need arises. Pending application(s), if any, shall also stands disposed of.
