ANIL KSHETARPAL, J(Oral) Two identical contempt petitions have come up for hearing. In both the cases, the petitions were disposed of by directing the State of Punjab to take the final decision on premature release case of each of the petitioner.
Complaining non-compliance, these contempt petitions were filed under the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971. On instructions, Sh. Nikhil Chopra, Additional Advocate General, Punjab, has submitted that a policy which is to be taken by the Cabinet of the State of Punjab which will have to be approved by the Hon'ble Governor. He undertakes that the matter would be finalized within a period of three months.
In view of the aforesaid statement, no further order is required to be passed.
