Through this writ petition, the petitioner prays for release of various benefits. He also pray that the respondents be directed to consider him for promotion in view of his acquittal in a criminal case arising from FIR No. 16 dated 11.04.2015, registered under Section 306 IPC, at Police Station Rawal Pindi, Phagwara, District Kapurthala. On 24.07.2020, the following order was passed:- "The matter has been taken up for hearing through vide conferencing due to outbreak of COVID-19. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been acquitted in criminal case registered against him, but the department is not releasing his subsistence allowance, promotion and other benefits.

Thereafter, on 26.11.2020, the following order was passed:- "Ms. Monica Chhiber Sharma, Advocate, has put in appearance on behalf of respondent No.2 to 5 and states that the respondents are trying to sort out the entire dispute with the petitioner, as the disciplinary proceedings pending against the petitioner has been concluded.

Adjourned to 20.01.2021".

Ms. Monica Chibber Sharma, Advocate, appearing for respondent No. 2 to 5, on instructions from Mr. Ranjit Singh, Additional Superintending Engineer, P & M Division, Hoshiarpur, states that most of the benefits of the petitioner have already been released or are in the process of being released. She submits that the case of the petitioner for grant of time bound scale, on completion of 16 years of service, is being considered and a final decision thereon shall be taken within a period of four weeks. She further submits that an amount of 3,68,000/- approximately has already ₹ been transferred to the ledger for releasing to the petitioner. She further submits that the entire claim of the petitioner in the writ petition shall be sorted out within a period of four weeks from today. Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the present writ petition is disposed of. However, the petitioner shall be at liberty to move an application for recall or revival of the writ petition, if he still feels aggrieved. (Anil Kshetarpal) Judge January 21, 2021 "DK"
