Petitioner alongwith Gram Panchayat Sandeel, Village Sandeel District Jind moved an application under Section 7(2) of the Punjab Village Common Lands Regulation Act,1961 before ACIG-cum-SDO(Civil)Jind seeking removal of illegal encroachments of respondents 8 to 16 over land measuring 17 marlas, owned by Gram Panchayat. Upon notice,respondents entered appearance and contested the application. After hearing both sides, learned Assistant Collector Ist Grade, Jind vide order dated 15.12.2016 (P-1) held that respondents 8 to 16 had encroached upon land owned by Gram Panchayat by raising construction over the land in dispute. Accordingly, they were ordered to be ejected from the land in question and possession handed over to Gram Panchayat. Since encroachments still exist on the land in question, hence this petition to direct official respondents to get the same removed.
