*** Report sent by Additional District and Sessions Judge, Jalandhar seen in which he has informed that though the charge in this case has been framed but no PW has been recorded so far. Though he has assured that he would make earnest efforts to conclude the trial within six months from the next date of hearing.

In view of such report, learned counsel for the petitioner states that he be permitted to withdraw the present petition though a direction be issued to the trial Court to conclude the trial in a time bound manner. The petition is accordingly dismissed as withdrawn. The trial Court is directed to give short adjournments for the purpose of recording statements of the prosecution witnesses. The State shall ensure the appearance of the prosecution witnesses in the Court on each and every date of hearing so fixed. The accused shall not ask for adjournment for cross-examination of the PWs except for a justifiable reason. All efforts be made to complete the trial within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. (H.S.
