The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking setting aside of award dated 26.02.2019 to the extent of referral of victim compensation to District Legal Services Authority instead of the State Legal Services Authority. 2.

On 22.03.2017, the petitioner went missing. The family members of petitioner tried to trace her but to no avail. An FIR No.12 dated 23.03.2017 was registered under Sections 363, 366 376 IPC and Section 4 of POCSO Act, 2012. She was found with one Jaskaran Singh who was declared juvenile. Jaskaran Singh was held guilty by Juvenile Justice Board, Fazilka vide order dated 26.02.2019. A Committee was constituted by District Legal Services Authority, Fazilka to determine compensation to victim. The said Committee vide award dated 02.05.2019 awarded compensation of ₹2,00,000/-. The petitioner claims that as per Punjab Victim Compensation Scheme, 2017, she is entitled to higher amount of compensation.

On being confronted with order dated 24.03.2026 passed by this Court in CWP-8862-2026, "Jaspreet Singh v. State of Punjab and others", leaned counsel for the petitioner expressed his inability to controvert applicability of said order to present case. 5.

In the backdrop, the petition stands dismissed in terms of order dated 24.03.2026 passed by this Court in Jaspreet Singh (supra). 6.
