This matter is being taken up for hearing through video conferencing due to outbreak of the pandemic, COVID-19. Prayer in this writ petition is for seeking directions to respondents to release the payment due towards petitioner who is engaged in carrying out various works for government agencies/departments. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the work in question has been carried out and completed to the satisfaction of the authorities. Amount as claimed is admittedly due. Learned counsel further submits that legal notice dated 10.05.2021 (Annexure P4) was served upon respondents, but to no avail.

CWP No.11476 of 2021 -2At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner restricts his prayer for a decision on legal notice dated 10.05.2021 (Annexure P4) in a time bound manner.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances as well as the limited prayer addressed, but without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent authority to decide legal notice dated 10.05.2021 (Annexure P4), in accordance with law by passing a speaking order, within a period of two months from date of receipt of certified copy of the order. In case any payment is found due towards the petitioner, the same be released to him within six weeks thereafter .
