(Oral) Prayer in this petition, filed under Section 439, Cr.P.C., is for grant of bail to the petitioner, Shinder Kaur, wife of Mukhtiar Singh @ Kala, resident of backside Municipal Committee, Barnala, District Barnala, who has been booked for having committed the offence punishable under Section 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, in a case arising out of FIR No. 114, dated 16.5.2014, registered at Police Station, City, Barnala. Learned counsel contends that the petitioner is a woman and behind the bars for the last more than seven months and the prosecution has not been able to examine a single witness. CRM-M-40519-2014 Learned counsel for the State after perusing the police file submits that the charge-sheet (report under Section 173, Cr.P.C.) was presented on 7.11.2014 and thereafter charges were framed on 11.12.2014. The first date for prosecution evidence is 13.1.2015. There was no opportunity for the prosecution to lead the evidence. He further contends that 1000 Allied tablets of commercial quantity were recovered from the petitioner. After hearing learned counsel for the parties and keeping in view the fact that huge quantity of contraband was recovered from the petitioner, no ground for grant of bail to the petitioner is made out.

Dismissed.
