*** M.M.S.BEDI, J.(ORAL) Petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No.171 dated 28.12.2011, under Sections 406, 420 of IPC registered at Police Station Matour, District SAS Nagar (Mohali) which was registered at the instance of respondent No.2 C.M.Vyas alleging that the petitioner had received original documents on the pretext of getting visa but the documents had been withheld.

The matter is claimed to have been compromised. Parties were directed to appear before the Illaqa Magistrate. Report has been received that the matter has been compromised voluntarily.

CRM-M-40647 of 2014 -2It is pertinent to mention that it is only petitioner who has been challaned in the case.

It is stated by State counsel that the petitioner is involved in about 60 similar cases. She is on bail in other cases. For the purposes of compounding, involvement of petitioner in other cases is not a material factor.

In view of the report and following the judgment in "Kulwinder Singh and others vs. State of Punjab, 2007 (3) RCR (Crl.) 1052", this petition is allowed. The above said FIR and all the criminal proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed on the basis of compromise.
