(ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. The present criminal writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus for the release of detenues, namely, Sandeep Kaur and Harsharan, wife and son of the petitioner, respectively, who are alleged to have been illegally detained by respondents No. 4 and 5, by appointing a Warrant Officer.

On 30.6.2021, Senior Superintendent of Police, Bathindarespondent No. 2 was directed to depute a gazetted police officer along with a lady police official for visiting the house of respondents No. 4 and 5 and make an enquiry as to whether the deteneus are residing there with their own consent or have been illegally detained by the private respondents. In compliance to the said order dated 30.6.2021, status report by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division GURPREET SINGH 2021.07.29 15:50 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CRWP No. 5957 of 2021 -2Bhucho, District Bathinda dated 24.7.2021 has been filed, which is taken on record. Along with the reply, statements of Sandeep Kaur, Jaswinder Kaur and Manpreet Singh have also been placed on record as Annexures R-1/T to R-3/T.

Keeping in view the above, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he may be permitted to withdraw the present petition. Dismissed as withdrawn.
