The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C. praying for issuance of writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus directing the official respondents to get the detenue namely Digvijay Singh @ Robin (Son of the petitioner) released from the illegal detention of respondent No. 5. 2.

Reply by way of an affidavit of Ms. Srishti Gupta, IPS, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Ambala, District Ambala has been filed by learned State counsel on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 4 in Court today, which is taken on record, subject to all just exceptions. Copy thereof has been supplied to the learned counsel for the petitioner. 3.

As per the reply filed by the State, an FIR has been lodged for the murder of the detenue and the accused Gurvinder Singh has been arrested and the law is taking its due course. 4.

In light of the above, the present petition stands dismissed as having been rendered infructuous, with liberty to the petitioner to take appropriate steps in accordance with law.
