(Oral) The present petition has been filed by the petitioner under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to appoint the petitioner on compassionate ground in view of the Notification issued by Government of Punjab, Department of Power (Energy Branch) dated 27.10.2022 (Annexure P-9). Further prayer has been made to issue direction to respondents to decide the representation dated 28.02.2024 (Annexure P-13) filed by the petitioner in a time bound manner. On receipt of advance copy of writ petition, Mr. Karmanbir Singh Kharbanda, Advocate, has appeared on behalf of respondents and produced a copy of the order dated 29.04.

2024, whereby the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment has been rejected. After arguing the case for some time, learned counsel for the petitioner wishes to withdraw the present petition with liberty to file afresh one, on the same cause of action by impugning the said order.
