Mr. Rajat Dogra, Advocate for the complainant. *** ANIL KSHETARPAL, J (Oral) This is the second petition for the grant of bail, pending trial, in a criminal case arising from FIR No.195, dated 23.09.2017, registered under Sections 302 and 120-B IPC, at Police Station Hathoor, District Ludhiana. As per the case of the prosecution, one unidentified dead body with the injuries on right side of the head, on the neck, right ear, left hand, index finger and thumb. During the hearing, it has been disclosed that out of total 21 prosecution witnesses, deposition of 7 prosecution witnesses has already been recorded.
Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Gurdev Singh, has informed the Court that most of the remaining prosecution witnesses are its officials. The case is at the stage of recording further evidence. Keeping in view the fact that the trial of the case has made substantial progress already, it would not be appropriate to consider the request for the grant of bail at this stage.
