The petitioner seeks issuance of directions to the official respondents so as to protect his life and liberty as he apprehends threat to the same at the hands of the private respondents No.5 to 11.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that petitioner's father and brother were murdered by the private respondents No.5 to 10 and in respect of which FIR No.216, dated 28.5.2012 at Police Station Safedon, District Jind, under Sections 148, 341, 323, 324, 302 and 149 of Indian Penal Code was lodged and upon conclusion of trial all of them were convicted vide judgment dated 5.5.2014 passed by learned Additional Sessions Judge, Jind. It has further been submitted that now upon completion of their sentence, they have been released from jail but are now issuing threats to the petitioner PANKAJ KAKKAR 2023.05.08 16:21 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and while refraining from making any expression as regards merits of the case or as regards veracity of averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - Superintendent of Police, District Jind to look into the matter and to get the representation dated 9.1.2023 (Annexure P-5) examined as regards the alleged threat perception of the petitioner. In case, it is found that there is any genuine threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner or to other members of his family, then necessary steps as warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest. 4.

A copy of this order alongwith copy of representation dated 9.1.2023 (Annexure P-5) be sent to respondent No.2 - Superintendent of Police, District Jind for necessary compliance.
