The prayer clothed in the instant writ petition appertains to issuance of directions to the respondents to forthwith release the petitioner's revised pension in accordance with the Punjab 6th Pay Commission Notification dated 19.07.2021, based on the revised pay fixation already approved and forwarded by the respondent No.2. 2.

On the previous date of hearing, i.e. 17.04.2026, this Court had passed the following order:- "Learned counsel for the State, has made a request for an adjournment, to have apposite instructions from the quarter concerned, and to apprise this Court, as to how much time is required by the authorities concerned, who is seized of the matter, to finally refer the matter to State Bank of India, for the latter to take a decision thereto.

Asked for request is accepted.

List on 23.04.2026."

Today, learned State counsel has placed on record a photocopy of a letter dated 20.04.2026, whereby directions have been issued by the District Treasury Officer, Kapurthala, to the Manager, State Bank of India, Kapurthala, for disbursement of the petitioner's revised pension against PPO No.1116056212.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondents No.3 and 6 (State Bank of India) acknowledges receipt of the letter (supra) and submits that the petitioner shall commence receiving the revised pension from the ensuing month, in terms of the recommendation made by the District Treasury Officer, Kapurthala.

In view of the above, no further directions are required to be issued, and the instant writ petition is closed. 6.

Disposed of accordingly.
