The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue her passport with correct date of birth.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that in the passport issued on 22.08.2022, date of birth of the petitioner has been recorded as 01.01.1981 whereas her correct date of birth is 27.02.1980. She applied for re-issuance of passport with correct date of birth. In support of her averment, she has submitted matriculation certificate with the passport authority.

She submits that petitioner at the time of issuance of first passport dated 22.08.2022 did not submit matriculation certificate consequently, her date of birth as per her affidavit was recorded as 01.01.1981. Now the petitioner has submitted matriculation certificate wherein her date of birth is recorded as 27.02.1980. The passport authority would verify authenticity of said matriculation certificate and thereafter pass an appropriate order, in accordance with law.

Counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement. 5.
