Petitioners have filed this petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 ('Cr.P.C.' for short) for quashing of FIR No. 272 dated 24.11.2015, under Section 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, registered at Police Station Shahkot, District Jalandhar (Annexure P-1) and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom. During the course of arguments, learned senior counsel for the petitioners has not pressed the prayer for quashing of the FIR but has submitted that the petitioners be granted protection to the effect that they be issued notices under Section 160 Cr.P.C. before asking them to join investigation. The prayer made by the learned senior counsel for the petitioners qua protection is without any merit as the petitioners have been named as accused in the FIR.
