The petitioner has filed this petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No.74 dated 7.5.2003 registered for the offences under Sections 406 and 420 IPC and (Sections 411 and 120-B IPC, which were added later on) at Police Station Guruharsahai, District Ferozepur.

Notice of motion has been issued.

Mr. Prabhjot Singh Walia, learned Assistant Advocate General, Punjab has appeared on behalf of the respondent-State and contested this petition.

Cr. Misc. No.M-20290 of 2019 [2] A perusal of the record shows that the FIR has been registered on 7.5.2003 and the petitioner is stated to have been declared as proclaimed offender on 27.3.2004 and since then he is absconding from the proceedings.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of this case, I find that no ground is made out for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, who has been absconding for the last about 15 years. Hence, it not a fit case where the petitioner is entitled for the grant of anticipatory bail. Therefore, finding no merit in this petition, the same is dismissed.
