RAMENDRA JAIN, J. (ORAL) Through this petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C, prayer has been made for grant of regular bail to petitioner-Amit Kumar, in case FIR No. 490 dated 07.05.2018 registered under Sections 20 and 25 of the NDPS Act and Sections 406 and 420 IPC at Police Station Sadar Karnal, District Karnal.
According to the prosecution, the petitioner along with co-accused, namely Ashok Kumar and Som Dutt @ Sonu, was apprehended with conscious possession of 45 Kgs of Ganja Patti, which falls under the 'commercial quantity'.
Heard.
Considering the seriousness of allegations levelled against the petitioner and the fact that drug trafficking in this Northern region of the country has increased manifold in the recent past and, thus, such type of crime has to be dealt with severe hands, this Court in not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
Dismissed.
