Status report by way of affidavit of Ms.Mandeep Kaur, PPS Deputy Superintendent of Police, City-I, District Patiala has been filed in Court today on behalf of respondent-State of Punjab. The same be kept on record. A copy thereof has been furnished to learned counsel for the petitioner. Paragraph 14 of the said status report reads as under:- "14. That the complainant party has moved an application to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, Chandigarh for inclusion of offence under SC Act in the present case as the victim belongs to Scheduled Caste and now as per letter/instructions dated 02.04.2024 received from the National Commission, Chandigarh an offence U/s 3(2)(v) of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 has been added in the FIR on 15.04.2024."
