Status report by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division Mansa, is received on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3 through e-mail, in compliance of order dated 27.07.2020 passed by this Court. The copy of the statement of Kiranjeet Kaur recorded by the police official is also part of the aforesaid status report. She is presently residing with her parents and she stated before the police official that the present petition filed by petitioner-Narinder Pal Singh is totally false and she is living happily with other members of her family.

Petitioner-Narinder Pal Singh is not related to Kiranjeet Kaur in any manner in the petition. He simply stated that while studying, they fell in love and want to marry with each other. The petitioner also alleged in the VIRENDRA SINGH ADHIKARI 2020.08.14 14:18

CRWP No.5328 of 2020 -2petition that Kiranjit Kaur has been illegally detained by her parents and relatives. As per the aforesaid status report and the statement of Kiranjit Kaur, it appears that the alleged detenue is residing happily with her parents, i.e., respondent Nos.4 and 5 and she is not interested to get marry with the petitioner.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner conceded that no further action requires to be taken in this matter. Accordingly, this petition is hereby dismissed having become infructuous.
