**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL , J. (ORAL) This petition has been filed for quashing of FIR No. 53 dated 15.4.2019 registered under Sections 406, 420 IPC and Section 13 of Punjab Travel Agent Professional Regulation Act, 2014, Police Station City, District Nawanshahr and all the consequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise (Annexure P-2) arrived at between the parties. Report has been received from the trial Court after statements of the parties were recorded regarding the compromise. The trial Court has reported that the compromise is genuine and voluntary. It is also reported that petitioner was not a proclaimed offender. The trial Court has also sent the copy of the statements of the parties.

Since the parties have arrived at a compromise and have decided to live in peace, no useful purpose would be served in allowing the criminal proceedings to continue.

State of Punjab and others (2012) 10 SCC 303, the instant petition is allowed and FIR No. 53 dated 15.4.2019 registered under Sections 406, 420 IPC and Section 13 of Punjab Travel Agent Professional Regulation Act, 2014, Police Station City, District Nawanshahr and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, qua the petitioner, are hereby quashed. Needless to say that parties shall remain bound by the terms of compromise and their statements made in the Court below.
