Punjab ******* SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) The present petition has been filed under Section 438 Code of Criminal Procedure for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.49 dated 27.06.2016 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 323, 324, 148 read with Section 149 of Indian Penal Code(for short-IPC) and 326 IPC added later on, at Police Station Maqboolpura, Amritsar.

Heard.

In the occurrence dated 26.06.2016, the petitioner, who was armed with kirpan, has given injuries on the right (thumb) of complainant, which was declared grievous in nature. He had also been attributed two kirpan blows on the head of complainant, as a result of which, he became unconscious.

CRM-M-41463-2017 -2six other cases and the proceedings to declare him proclaimed offender have already been initiated.

Keeping in view the nature and gravity of the offence and antecedents of the petitioner against whom there are six other FIRs, I find no reason to exercise the discretionary power of this Court to extend the benefit of anticipatory bail to him.

This petition has no merits. Dismissed.
