Manjeet v. State Of Haryana And Another
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT
CHANDIGARH CWP NO. 11693 OF 2022 DATE OF DECISION: 27.05.2022 Manjeet
...Petitioner
Versus
State of Haryana and another
...Respondents
CORAM : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ARUN MONGA Present :
Mr. Rajesh Nain, Advocate, For the petitioner.
Mr. Pankaj Middha, Addl. AG, Haryana.
ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Petitioner herein, inter alia, seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant an opportunity to the petitioner for scrutiny of documents for the post of Employability Skill Instructor as published vide notification dated 20.07.2019 (Annexure P-1). Petitioner claims he could not appear earlier due to noncommunication thereof by the respondents. 2.
On advance service of copy of the petition, learned State counsel appears and opposes issuance of notice of motion. 3.
Conceded case of the petitioner is that he did not submit requisite documents despite his having been declared successful in the written examination. The ostensible reason of the petitioner to justify his failure, as has been pleaded, is that he was not given any individual communication either through e-mail or text message and therefore, he was not aware of the cut-off date.

4.
Having heard rival arguments, I am of the view that at this belated stage, no indulgence can be given to the petitioner. The respondents on their part had done their duty by putting the result on the website. It was for all the candidates across board to remain vigilant and comply with further procedure as was advertised. It appears that justification, as aforesaid, given by the petitioner is a complete ruse to overcome his own default, which may have occurred for personal reasons or otherwise. In any case, law is for those who remain vigilant. 5.
In the premise, no ground for interference by this Court is made out.
6.
Dismissed.
