The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent No. 2 to re-issue his passport with correct date of birth and name. 2.
The petitioner was issued passport on 24.03.2011 which expired on 23.03.2021. The petitioner applied for re-issuance of passport. In the application, the petitioner pointed that correct spellings of his name are 'Major Singh' and correct date of birth is '09.12.1990' whereas in the earlier passport his name has been recorded as 'Mejor Singh' and date of birth as '15.11.1987'.

Learned counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, submits that petitioner was issued show cause notice on the ground that he has not disclosed facts and figures of his earlier passport. CWP No.9487 of 2023 -2- 2023:PHHC:146030 The petitioner did not reply to the aforesaid notice and accordingly application of the petitioner was closed. Nonetheless, petitioner is at liberty to file a fresh application disclosing particulars of earlier passport. On doing so, passport authority shall consider his application expeditiously. 4.
Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statements of both sides, the petition stands disposed of.
