Pursuant to the order dated 29.07.2020, learned counsel appearing for the State of Punjab has submitted that respondent No.4, 5, 8 and 9 have given statement before the police that they have no objection to the marriage of the petitioners and hence, they will never interfere in their married life.

Isroti and Sonu, the writ petitioners before this Court, claim themselves to be major. They have pleaded that they have married against the wishes of respondent No.4 to 9 and seek protection to their life and liberty. They apprehend danger from respondent No.4 to 9. They have placed on record the marriage certificate (Annexure P3), evidencing their marriage. Criminal Writ Petition No. 5383 of 2020 (Annexure P4) to respondent No.2.

Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, this Court disposes of the present writ petition with directions to respondent No.2 to decide the representation of the writ petitioners (Annexure P4) within a period of one month and grant them protection, if any threat to their life and liberty is perceived.
