Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that due to matrimonial dispute, he is having danger to his life and liberty from the hands of his wife and her relatives. A representation to this effect was made to Senior Superintendent of Police Kapurthala, copy of which has been placed on file as Annexure P-1. Without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala to verify the allegations levelled in the representation (Annexure P-1) relating to threat to life and liberty of the petitioner and take further appropriate action, if any, required in that matter.

It is however, made clear that nothing mentioned in this order shall be taken as direction to the police to indulge in the matrimonial/property dispute between the parties. This order shall have no bearing on any civil/criminal or other case or order passed by any authority competent under law. (SURINDER GUPTA) March 06, 2017.
