PANKAJ JAIN, J. (ORAL) Compliance report by way of affidavit of Karan Sharma, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Rural), Ferozepur, District Ferozepur has been filed. The same is taken on record. The stand of the respondent reads as under:

That in compliance with Order dated 08.04.2026, it is most respectfully submitted that the aforesaid contempt petition had arisen from Order dated 08.12.2025 passed by this Hon'ble Court in CRM-M-69208-2025 titled as "Babal Kumar Vs. State of Punjab and others" (P-1). The said Order dated 08.12.2025 is being reproduced below for the ready reference of this Hon'ble Court:

1.The petition has been filed inter alia seeking a direction to the official respondents for further investigation in case FIR no.82 dated 18.06.2025 under Sections 3(5), 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 registered at Police Station Mamdot, District Ferozepur.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that the suicide note of petitioner's deceased brother was handed over to the investigating officer, as recorded in the chargesheet/challan as well, but the same was not investigated.

3. Learned State counsel, on instructions from Mr.Karan Sharma, DSP (Rural), Ferozepur, contends that the suicide note will be looked into, and the petitioner's statement will also be recorded by the investigating officer.

In view of the statement made, learned counsel for the petitioner has no objection to the petition being disposed of in terms thereof.

That it is most respectfully submitted that earlier after passing of the Order dated 08.12.2025, the petitioner failed to turn up to record his statement and ultimately on 09.04.2026, he visited the Police Station, Mamdot, District Ferozepur and recorded his statement with the Investigating Officer.

That it is further submitted that in view of the seriousness of the matter, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur has already constituted Special Investigation Team vide Order no.343/R/SSP dated 30.03.2026 consisting of Shri Dharamveer, SP(HQ), Ferozepur as its Chairman, DSP(D), Ferozepur and SHO, PS:Mamdot as its members and the SIT has called the petitioner and discussed the each and every aspect of the case in hand. The petitioner got recorded his statement with the Special Investigation Team on 13.04.2026.

That it is further submitted that the suicide note provided by the petitioner along with cheque no.000008, having account no.50100451894108 of HDFC Bank bearing the signatures of deceased Om Parkash in English were sent to the FSL Lab, Mohali vide road no.47/21 dated 02.03.2026, but the same was returned on 03.03.2026 with the objections to send more signatures/ writing of the deceased for proper comparison. Rapat no.22 dated 03.03.2026

was recorded in the Police Station, Mamdot, District Ferozepur. Thereafter, the family members of the deceased including the petitioner were called and appraised about the aforesaid legal proposition and they were requested to provide more writing of deceased Om Parkash for its comparison with the suicide note. 7.

That it is further submitted on 16.03.2026, the petitioner has submitted two handwritten pages allegedly of Om Parkash deceased to Special Investigating Team and the same were taken into possession. Thereafter, the same were sent along with suicide note vide rapat no.17 dated 26.03.2026 through Sr.Constable Manjit Singh No.1430 to FSL, Mohali. Thereafter, the said writing along with suicide note were again received back to the Police Station Mamdot, District Ferozepur with the objections to send more writing of deceased for its comparison in proper and effective manner. In this regard GD no.002 dated 28.03.2026 was recorded in the rapat roznamcha register. The petitioner was duly apprised about the aforesaid facts.

That it is further submitted that thereafter on 13.04.2026, the petitioner has produced mobile phone Vivo Y-19, Model V2432 of deceased Om Parkash containing first video of dated 15.06.2025 of 5:17 PM and second of same date of 5:07 PM and third of vide dated 16.06.2025 of 8:52 AM. The petitioner has also produced the domestic accounts allegedly containing the writing of Om Parkash and the same were taken into possession by SIT on 13.04.2026. Rapat no.22 dated 13.04.2026 was duly recorded in the Police record.

That it is further submitted that mobile phone as stated above was deposited with the concerned office i.e. CITSU Forensic Lab office of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ferozepur on 17.04.2026 and rapat no.34 dated 17.04.202 was duly recorded in this regard.

That it is further submitted that the domestic accounts, cheques containing the alleged signatures of Om Parkash and alleged suicide note were sent to the FSL Lab on 15.04.2026 vide GD no.10 dated 14.04.2026 and the same were deposited in the

concerned Lab and on return, rapat no.037 dated 15.04.2026 was duly recorded.

That it is most respectfully submitted that the matter is being investigated by the Special Investigating Team constituted on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur and there is no delay or inaction on the part of the Investigating Ageny. 2.

Keeping in view that now suicide note has been sent to FSL and the Senior Superintendent of Police is seized of the matter, no further order is required to be passed in the present contempt petition. The same is accordingly, disposed off.
