This is a petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No. 290 dated 29.08.2014 registered under Sections 498A/406 IPC later on added 406 IPC at Police Station Chheharata, Amritsar City and the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom on the basis of compromise.

Learned State counsel at the outset submits that matter is still under investigation. Compromise, if any, between the parties shall be taken into consideration by the investigating officer before submitting final report under section 173 Cr.P.C. Needless to observe that in case investigating officer comes to the conclusion that parties have arrived at a compromise, he shall be at liberty to file cancellation report before the competent court within one month. Disposed of.

Petitioners shall, however, be at liberty to file afresh in case any cause of action survives.
