    This is the fourth petition for grant of bail, pending trial, in a criminal case arising from FIR No.171, dated 23.09.2019, registered under Section 22 of the NDPS Act, 1985, at Police Station Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh.

The first petition was dismissed on 16.12.2019 whereas the second petition was dismissed on 21.05.2020. The third petition was dismissed on 09.02.2021.

As per the case of the prosecution, the petitioner was found in conscious possession of 880 intoxicant tablets containing Tramadol salt. The total weight of the tablets fall in the category of commercial. The learned counsel representing the petitioner contends that the petitioner has already been acquitted in two other cases under the NDPS Act, 1985.

CRM-M-27378-2021 (O&M) trial of the case has already made substantial progress as the prosecution has already recorded depositions of 4 out of 15 witnesses whereas 3 have been given up.

Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, no ground to grant the concession of bail is made out.

Hence, dismissed.

However, the learned Trial Court is requested to make sincere endeavours for expeditious disposal of the trial. All the pending miscellaneous applications, if any, are also disposed of.
