Vide order dated 10.04.2015 passed by the learned Sessions Judge, Hoshiarpur, Rs.3,00,000/- was awarded as compensation under Section 357(A) to the widow and children of the deceased Mohan Singh. Said compensation was ordered to be paid within a period of 02 months from the passing of the judgment, failing which, the legal heirs of the deceased-Mohan Singh will be entitled to recover the same by adopting due process of law. However, it is stated that no recovery has been effected from the accused.

In the light of the above, since it has already been recommended that if the amount of compensation could not be recovered from the accused, District Legal Services Authority, Hoshiarpur will pay the compensation amount to the legal heirs of deceased-Mohan Singh.

Accordingly, District Legal Services Authority, Hoshiarpur is directed to pay the compensation amount of Rs.3,00,000/- under the Victim POONAM RATHORE 2025.07.25 17:41 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document High Court Chandigarh
