(ORAL) By way of the instant petition, the petitioner seeks the indulgence of this Court for the issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.2 and 3 to protect her life and liberty as she apprehends threat to the same at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7, who happen to be her daughter-in-law, grandson and the associates of her daughter-in-law respectively, while averring that the said respondents have been harassing and maltreating her and respondent No.4 is pressurising her to transfer the ownership of the house, wherein she is residing, in her name. It has also been mentioned in this petition that a detailed complaint/application (Annexure P-1) has already been moved to respondent No.2 in this regard.

Learned counsel for the petitioner restricts her prayer to the issuance of a direction to respondent No.2 to look into and to take appropriate action on the said complaint/application of the petitioner, i.e Annexure P-1.

Learned counsel for the State has no objection for the same. Keeping in view the above-discussed limited prayer as made by learned counsel for the petitioner and without commenting or expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter in hand, respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, S.A.S. Nagar, Mohali, is hereby directed to look into the said complaint/application of the petitioner (Annexure P-1) and if it is found that the petitioner genuinely deserves any protection, then to take appropriate action in accordance with law.
