[1] The matter is taken up for hearing through vide conference due to COVID-19 situation.

[2] The petitioners have filed the petition seeking direction to respondents No.2 and 3 for protection of their life and liberty. The petitioners are parents of respondent No.4. It is pleaded that their son performed marriage with Anita (respondent No. 5) against their wishes. Thereafter, there is a dispute with regard to the property. There is allegation that son and daughter-in-law have tried to forcefully enter the house of the petitioners. The grievance is that representation was moved to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Pathankot on 25th February, 2020 but no action has been taken till date.

[4] Mr. Pawan Sharda, Sr. D.A.G., Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondents No.1 to 3.

[5] Considering the nature of the order being passed, it is not deemed necessary to issue notices to respondents No.4 and 5. The petition is disposed of with direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Pathankot to take decision on the representation of the petitioners expeditiously and take necessary action, if so warranted.
