The court has been convened through video conferencing due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Counsel for the petitioner has submitted that on 27.06.2020 respondents No.4 and 5 had entered the house of the petitioner, caused injuries to him and misbehaved with his wife. On his statement, FIR No. 0138 was registered under Sections 452, 323, 506, 354, 34 IPC and Sections 30, 54, 59 of the Arms Act, 1959. Despite the fact that respondent No.5 had actively participated in the offence, the local police declared respondent No. 5 as innocent on 14.07.2020 without any basis. Thereafter, respondent No. 4 started threatening the petitioner and his family members that in case any action has been taken against him, he will eliminate the petitioner and his family. The petitioner gave a representation dated 24.07.2020 (Annexure P3) to respondent No. 2 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar Sahib for the protection of life and liberty to the petitioner and his family but no action has been taken thereon.

CRWP-5469-2020 {2} direction to respondent No. 2 to look into his representation. Submission made by counsel is just and reasonable. Without considering the allegations levelled by the petitioner in this petition or in his representation, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 2 - Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar Sahib to examine expeditiously the representation dated 24.07.2020 (Annexure P3) given by the petitioner and thereafter to take appropriate steps as warranted in accordance with law.
