The petitioner, who is stated to have retired as Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) from Water Resource, Department, Faridkot at Giddarbahi w.e.f. 31.7.2022 upon attaining the age of superannuation, seeks issuance of direction to the respondents for release of his retiral benefits including General Insurance Scheme (GIS), Leave Encashment and Gratuity.

Learned counsel representing the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner had served a legal notice dated 14.3.2023 (Annexure P-6) upon the respondents, but to no avail.

Without commenting anything as regards merits of the case or as regards averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - Chief Engineer (Headquarter and Dispute Resolution), Water Resource, Hydel Building, Sector - 18 B, Chandigarh to PANKAJ KAKKAR 2023.07.11 13:29 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

In case, the retiral benefits as claimed by the petitioner are found to be due, the same shall be paid to the petitioner at the earliest.
