PANKAJ JAIN, J. (ORAL) By way of instant petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, the petitioners seek directions to the official respondents to protect their life and liberty at the hands of respondents No.4 to 6.

Short reply by way of affidavit of Raj Kumar, PPS, DSP, Sub Division Ajnala, Amritsar (Rural) has been filed on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3 today in Court, which is taken on record. Copy supplied. As per the same stand of the State reads as under :

That it is submitted that as per the report furnished by the Station House Officer, Police Station Ramdas, Amritsar Rural, the statements of the present petitioners Lakhwinder Kaur and
Gaggomahal, PS Ramdas, Amritsar Rural, wherein they have stated that the date of birth of the petitioner No. 1-Lakhwinder Kaur is 01.01.2005 and date of birth of petitioner No. 2-Gurpreet Singh is 01.01.2006. They both are major. The petitioner No. 1Lakhwinder Kaur had eloped with the petitioner No. 2-Gurpreet Singh on the intervening night of 25.04.2024 from the house of her aunt Paramjit Kaur and started living together in live-in relationship at village Kot Razada (Bedi Channa), Police Station Ramdas, Amritsar Rural. Firstly parents and relatives of the petitioner No.1-Lakhwinder Kaur were against the relation of the petitioners.
Hence, anticipating danger the private respondents filed the present petition before this Hon'ble Court seeking protection to their lives and liberty but now the private respondents have agreed with their relationship and the petitioners are living together happily at village Kot Razada. Hence, they are not apprehending any danger from any one and they do not require any kind of security. The statements of the petitioners Lakhwinder Kaur and Gurpreet Singh are annexed herewith as Annexure R-1/T and R-2/T for the kind perusal of this Hon'ble Court. 5.
That in addition to the above, the private respondents No. 4 to 6 Mukhtar Singh @ Mukha, Balwinder Kaur and Manga Singh were also approached and their respective statements were also recorded by ASI Sukhjit Singh, I.C. PP Gaggomahal, PS Ramdas, Amritsar Rural, wherein they have stated the petitioner No. 1 Lakhwinder Kaur had gone with the petitioner No. 2-Gurpreet Singh on the intervening night of 25.4.2024. They searched her a lot and later on came to know that the petitioner No. 1 Lakhwinder Kaur is living in live-in relationship with the petitioner No. 2Gurpreet Singh. The date of birth of Lakhwinder Kaur is 01.05.2005 and she being major is living with the petitioner No. 2 Gurdeep Singh. They have no objection to the relationship of the present petitioners Lakwhinder Kaur and Gurpreet Singh. The statements of the respondents No. 4 to 6 Mukhtar Singh @ Mukha, Balwinder Kaur and Manga Singh are annexed herewith as
Court.

That it is respectfully submitted that keeping in view the totality of the facts and submissions made hereinabove it is evident that both the petitioners Lakhwinder Kaur and Gurpreet Singh are major and they both are living in live-in relationship with each other at the house of petitioner No. 2-Gurpreet Singh happily, The private respondents No. 4 to 6 i.e. parents of petitioner No. 1Lakhwinder Kaur have agreed with the relationship of the petitioners and they have no objection to the same. The petitioners Lakhwinder Kaur and Gurpreet Singh are now not apprehending any danger at the hands of private respondents No. 4 to 6 and the petitioners do not intend to get any kind of security. However, the petitioners have been advised that if they apprehend any kind of danger from parents of the petitioner No.
1-Lakhwinder Kaur then they can get protection from local police. Furthermore, directions have been issued to the Station House Officer, Police Station Ramdas, Amritsar Rural to keep a continuous watch on the activities of both the parties in order to thwart any untoward incident. Therefore, the present petition is liable to be dismissed. 3.
In view thereof no further order is warranted. 4.
Petition stands disposed off accordingly.
