(ORAL) The petitioner is seeking a direction to the respondents to finalize the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner in a time bound manner as per instructions issued from time to time by the respondentCorporation. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner had been charge-sheeted on 12.10.2020 (Annexure P-1) but the disciplinary proceedings have not been finalized. The petitioner, who is working as Additional Assistant Engineer, is due to retire next year. He also states that the petitioner has moved a representation (Annexure P-6) in this regard and there is no impediment in the conclusion of the disciplinary proceedings. Issue notice to the respondents.
At the asking of the Court, Mr. TPS Chawla, DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
The petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to finalize the proceedings within a period of six months from the receipt of certified copy of this order if there is no justifiable impediment in doing so.
