The statements of the parties have already been recorded. As per the report submitted by the trial Court, it appears that the material witnesses have turned hostile and the case is at the defence evidence stage.

In view of the above-said circumstances, I dispose of this petition with a direction that in case the petitioners seek adjudication of the matter on the basis of compromise, the trial Court shall take into consideration the affidavits and the statements made before the Court to grant any appropriate order in favour of the petitioners, including acquittal, on the basis of benefit of doubt.
