...Petitioner
Versus
State of Punjab and another
...Respondents
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE H.S. MADAAN Present:- Anil Kumar Sharma, Advocate for the petitioner. Ms. Samina Dhir, DAG, Punjab.
*** It is stated by learned counsel for the petitioner that the matter has been compromised between the parties but complainant Gurpreet Kaur has since left abroad and is not coming forward to make statement in that regard. Even in petition under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act, her mother had appeared as her attorney and made statement in the Court and then the petition had been allowed.
Quashing of F.I.R. has been sought. Since the complainant has not appeared and made statement in the Court conceding the fact of compromise between the parties, the present petition is disposed of directing respondent no. 1 to explore the possibility of filing cancellation report in the matter if it comes out that matter has in fact been compromised between the parties. The exercise be completed within two month from today.
