Petitioner has filed this petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for quashing of FIR No. 266 dated 10.9.1997, under Section 406 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, registered at Police Station Civil Lines, District Ludhiana (Annexure P-1) and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom on the basis of letter/compromise dated 24.6.2013 (Annexure P-2).

Learned State counsel, who is assisted by Assistant Sub Inspector Jagjit Singh, has submitted that in the present case, cancellation report has been prepared as the amount in question has been paid to the complainant. Learned State counsel has further submitted that the cancellation report will be presented in the Court within one month from today.
