The petitioner prays for grant of regular bail pending trial in a criminal case arising from FIR No. 91 dated 02.07.2019. registered under Section 409, 420 & 120-B IPC at Police Station City-1, Malerkotla, District Sangrur.
As per the case of the prosecution, the petitioner is alleged to have embezzled approximately a sum of ₹ 8,00,000/-. The petitioner is stated to be working in Punjab Road Transport Corporation. The petitioner is in custody since 30.06.2020. The case is triable by a Judicial Magistrate Ist Class and the conclusion whereof is likely to take time. Keeping in view the aforesaid facts and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, it is considered appropriate to direct that the petitioner be released on regular bail as the conclusion of the trial is likely to take time.
