RAMENDRA JAIN, J. (ORAL) Case has been taken up for hearing through video-conferencing due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Through instant petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C. has been made for grant of regular bail to petitioner - Pappu - in case arising from FIR No.49 dated 01.05.2020 registered under Section 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, 1985 at Police Station City Rampura, District Bathinda.

According to the prosecution, on 01.05.2020, petitioner was apprehended with conscious possession of 8000 tablets of Clovidol-100SR, without any permit or license.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that FSL report has not yet been received. Therefore, it cannot be said at this stage that alleged recovery was a narcotic substance. In view of above, but without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the petitioner is granted interim bail subject to furnishing personal bonds and two sureties of ` 2.00 lakh each, to the satisfaction of Special Court concerned only till receipt of the FSL report. The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
