Mr.Gagneshwar Walia, Advocate for the petitioner. **** ANUPINDER SINGH GREWAL, J (ORAL) Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is seeking promotion to the post of District Mandi Officer from the date his juniors have been promoted. He also submits that the case of the petitioner had been kept in sealed cover but after culmination of the departmental proceedings, he has been entitled to be promoted with effect from the date his juniors have been promoted. He also submits that the petitioner has sent a legal notice dated 25.02.2022 (Annexure P-6) to respondent No.2. He further contends that he would be satisfied if this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider and decide the legal notice (Annexures P-6) in accordance with law.

Issue notice to the respondents.

At the asking of the Court, Mr. T.P.S. Chawla, DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider and decide the legal notice (Annexure P-6) within a period of four months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
